Class Description

Class Duration - 8 Days (Tuesday May 6 through Wednesday May 14) on a Beneteau Oceanis 48, a 48’, 4 cabin, 4 head sailing monohull yacht. Location - Sailing out of Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands Cost - Student - Shared Cabin - $2995* - Student - Single Occupancy Cabin - $4990* - Non-Certifying Spouse/Guest (sharing a cabin) - $1995* Payment Schedule Deposit of $1,000/person is due at the time of booking. Payment 1 will be invoiced separately and due immediately upon receipt. Final Balance will be invoiced separately and due by March 17, 2025. Itinerary / Possible Destinations - Cooper Island - The Baths - Virgin Gorda - Leverick Bay -Virgin Gorda - Anegada Island - Cane Garden Bay - Diamond Cay - Jost Van Dyke - White Bay (Soggy Dollar) - Norman Island Written Exam - Can be taken by appointment after returning home Certification - Completion of this class and passing the written exam will lead to earning the ASA 106 Certification Travel Options to Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI) - Fly from US to San Juan, PR to Tortola, BVI via Terrance B. Lettsome (EIS) airport, take taxi to marina in Road Town. - Fly from US to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands and take the international ferry to Road Town, Tortola, BVI (approximately 1.5 hour ferry ride). Take taxi to marina in Road Town. Class Topics Include - Trip Planning - Vessel Inspection - Weather Seamanship - Navigation Planning - USCG Regulations - Sailing Theory - Practical Application - Emergency Procedures - Courtesies & Customs - Boat Systems - Maintenance Procedure - Engineering Safety at Sea Prerequisites - ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing - ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising - ASA 104 Intermediate Coastal Cruising - ASA 105 Coastal Navigation Terms & Conditions - You are responsible for your arrangements and cost of travel and lodging to/from Tortola, BVI - A current international passport is necessary for travel to the BVI. - You will be living on the boat from the time of departure to the time of disembarking - You will be sharing in the cost of boat provisions for the trip which are above the class cost - Trip is non-refundable after March 6.


Cancellation Policy

The deposit is non-refundable. The remaining class fee is not refundable after March 6, 2025.
